There is enough evidence he was positive about Poland and even praised them for defeating the communists but his opinion changed around 1938 after annexation of Czech lands. He at first offered an alliance to Poland but they refused. It got a lot worse when he didnt get his demands met regarding unification of Danzig(Gdansk) with german lands.
The concept of Lebensraum was centuries old because there was more Farmland in the east.
What Hitler basically wanted was the mineral rich lands in the east to support German industrialisation.
Now the periode before the 2nd world war the germans used a particular economic model which greatly increased their economy while they were already the most numerous people in Europe. Being numerous is always the precursor to expansion. Poland expanded into the PL-commonwealth because they had a big population back then.

This is getting long but simply said. The Poles were the biggest obstacle to German hedgemony and they were too stubborn to comply to his needs so therefor he propagated for the colonisation. There was an actual occurence of German officers marrying and starting families in Poland and it wasn't dissaproved.
As long as it served his political goals.

What is funny is that Hitler called the Germans unworthy of this empire he hoped for and that they deserved to die. So yeah you make something out of that
