depends, why you getting lefort 1 surgery. cause there is clockwise and Counterclockwise Le Fort I Movements.
Do you have an under or overbite?

Le Fort I with counterclockwise rotation predictably changes nose and upper lip shape, width, and projection, but current research does not show that it reliably removes smile lines or nasolabial folds. It may make the midface and lip area look fuller, which can subtly affect how lines appear

But you also gotta tell the Surgeon you want more forward growth. im also having my lefort 1 in about a year.

yes, im grinding Reps :feelshah:

do you mean forward growth in respect to the mandible? because the surgery is already like 20k and I can't afford another 20 for bimax

Yes, Le Fort I osteotomy is specifically designed to address this.
Blud why you paying 20k just say you have pain, breathing problems and cant properly eat cus you keep on biting your lips or something.

That worked for me atleast now my insurance covers everything :blackpill:

baleeeez like my posts :feelswah:

My insurance only covers very extreme cases. I already tried saying that it caused me problems with sleep and breathing (It does)

how much do you think it would be to add ccw rotation on top of the lefort 1?

ccw is already part of lefort 1 so you good, but what a gay ass insurance.
maybe your doctor could write a report saying its severe that could work

I thought ccw rotation changed the angle of the mandible but lefort 1 only changes the maxilla

also, what would be the change in the surgery that I would ask for when asking for forward growth

You joined 4 days ago and you are already thinking about surgery

I deleted my old account and the surgery is already in the works not just thinking about it

It usually involves both the maxilla and mandible moving together
The upper jaw (maxilla) is repositioned and the lower jaw follows to maintain your bite

when you say it follows what do you mean? So there are no actual changes to the lower jaw during the surgery?

and while the suture is opened after the surgery, I was thinking of mse. Do you think it would help me or would it just waste of money

the mandible doesn’t “just follow” passively and it definitely doesn’t grow It is usually surgically repositioned as well

but you could ask for BSSO and osseous genioplasty. surgeons can do it in one go

A standard LeFort I osteotomy technically only involves the upper jaw (maxilla). However, because the jaws are linked by the teeth and the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), moving the upper jaw usually causes the lower jaw (mandible) to shift as well through a process called autorotation.
what I found not sure if its true

hard to tell, you should ask the doctor tbh

what im really trying to ask is would a wider pallete have a positive aesthetic affect for me because for some people it can make them look worse

Leforte dont chmage front unless vertical deficiency or excess vertical

I thought it helped with flat or sunken mid face
Not that much unless its severe. You are not a bimax candidate. Your problem is chubby nose and skin folds around the eyes.

Bleph + fat graft and rhino

It does balance out the chin to philtrum ratio A BIT VISUALLY, because Class 3 patients typically have a heavy lower third (vertically too tall). And overall, I think it gives you a fresher and more approachable look.

Purely lefort (6mm forward):

It literally made him like 15 years younger lol

Also, she claims she only got a lefort 1, idk how tf her chin got so much smaller from the front

He went from none smile to smiling, she i dont even know. If the left is the after she became more youthful because of less bones basically and her ogre witch chin and nose is gone. The nose is just puffed rhi

This was combined with a bsso though (lower jaw setback), I'm wondering if he could've achieved a similar result from the front with just a vertical reduction genio + lefort 1

Thats what I'm saying. Though some people get it and their CPR doesn't seem to change at all, maybe the surgeon secretly threw in a secret genio for christmas or some shit

I mean the big diff is from having a huge ass underbite before
Doesn't look that huge from this picture, if I had to guess I would say like 6-8mm MAX. I would consider something like 1cm or above of recession a huge underbite

4+ mm is humongus underbite

Oh come on man :ROFLMAO:

I don't think 4+mm is humongus and I'm not even coping lol, I'm getting lefort around next year since I'm in braces already.

Who would even do a lefort 1 if ur underbite is < 4mm? Seems pointless to me.
4 mm underbite is huge, over bite its normal. For umderbite even edge to edge is bad

I have done ortho for nearly 10 years an am slightly worse than edge to edge. Should I still go through with just the lefort 1
