How often should i apply latisse? And how?

Just got latisse, however i dont know how often to apply and how

It says 4x per day, twice in the morning and evening but that somehow seems a bit low

i also dont know how, what i did now was just put it everywhere from the root of the hair to the end, on upper and lower eyelids

is this correct?
