as someone who got a late diagnosis it definitely hindered me in school work quite a bit, no one had any idea what was going on with me.

it's also affected my organizational skills quite often which annoys me

any work felt like a chore and as assignments got increasingly difficult as i entered highschool, i eventually stopped caring

in january i got prescribed methylphenidate which made me feel terrible and have intense, dark suicidal thoughts, and a couple other side effects

which eventually led to me getting lexapro afterwards which made me insanely tired 24/7 and gave me little chance to do any work

thats just a short summary but overall i feel my life would have been very different and dare i say somewhat enjoyable if this hell of a disorder didnt come for me when i was young

Had to drop out of uni because of it. My old psych wouldn't prescribe me stimulants because they're "bad for your heart".

With my new doctor I'm now on Ritalin and Lexapro. It seems like it's helping a little bit even though it's only been 2 weeks.

I probably won't be going back to uni but I might try a trade school or program

Later in life it only stopped me from studying a few topics because it was pretty hard to concentrate, but now it doesn't affect my life that much

True, that does happen and it happened to me, not the hygiene thing tho, im nd besides the adhd and hygiene bothers me a lot, i get very anxious, but yeah, anger issues are a constant problem for people with adhd, and people calling me lazy genuinely gets me boiling

from my family members experience not mine because i do think that i have add because of symptoms as well as my entire family being diagnosed with either that or autism it seems to effect my siblings pretty bad. for me it is insanely hard to keep focus for long so maybe in the future i’ll get prescribed
