Swallow your pride and go to a stylist or salon instead. Barbers specialize with fades, everything else is situational.
The women that run the salons i go to are more careful with the length work. Try asking for a scissor cut instead of clippers, make sure to mention not using thinning shears or it'll rape ur texture and volume if u have wavy-curly hair
