how tf do people get good at drawing

im convinced its like mostly innate

i was highly skilled for a young child and art teachers would be like amazed n shit but my skill literally never progressed. legit had the same ability from kindergarten to now which is like not impressive for an adult. cant draw faces or shade. there are ppl who start poorly and somehow get pretty good at both when theyre still kids ... how??? maybe its because they have higher level of finger control and better handwriting.

yeah its DNA most ppl who are good at drawing already had a high baseline level of skill

you get good at drawing what you see and getting your hand good at moving as a baseline,

then you learn about structure, anatomy, simplification, values, lighting, etc

I was great at Art from ages 6-17 then life happened and I stopped practicing which naturally caused
