How the fuck are some boomers broke?

I'm talking about older boomers, who had most (if not all) of their working life take place in the latter half of the 20th century. The age where you could walk into a place, demand a job and start that afternoon... then BUY a place to live on your low salary, and support your wife and 4 kids. When the economy would grow a solid 3-4% a year. From 1950-2000, economic gold with the exception of a few short years in the 70s that boomers like crying about to this day like it was the end of the world.

How the fuck could things be rigged so much in your favour, for you to reach old age still poor?

Younger people have a tendency to assume wisdom accrues with age. It does a little, but it does not turn a stupid 20 year old into a smart 60 year old. All those people you know now that are stupid losers, will still be stupid losers in 40 years.

Also, accident, health problems, addiction, divorce.

How do you cope with earning a super high income but not having anything to spend it on

Afaik you are childless. Do you not worry about generational wealth, passing on your genes. Or did you castrate yourself when vasectomy was the big thing in the 80s
