How the fuck do you deal with dehydrated skin/compromised moisture barrier?

Last summer I had a massive acne spurt and I went too hard on actives. Now I've been repairing my skin for two months with the following routine:
Hada Labo Gyokujun
Avène Hydrance Boost serum
Eucerin Urea Repair
Cicaplast B5+ or Lipikar Balm AP+M

It's marginally better now but it still feels tight and burns after a few hours. I can't believe skin can be that stubborn.

Stop using anything but cicaplast until it heals.

It leaves a white cast, it looks dumb asf if I go out with it though

Yeah, just leave your skin alone for a bit.
I actually think it's a great idea I'm sick of all those scam products, costs a fuck ton too.
Vaseline based products break me out too.
Once it's rebooted I'll just use tretinoin, sunscreen and cicaplast or another moisturiser.

Idk it feels like my skin is hot and irritated, but not when I apply or cleanse, only after a few hours. Especially when I'm indoors with heating

You mean I shouldn't put anything during the day?
No lol this is how you damage your skin further. Your barrier is impaired meaning it can no longer retain moisture. To allow it to repair you need to supply the compromised skin with moisture and lock it in with an occlusive.

You can’t only use Cicaplast because that’s an occulusive that doesn’t actually provide proper moisture to the skin, but instead acts as a barrier for moisture. You need to supply moisture before locking it in.

Hada Labo (moisture) after cleansing and then leave it to absorb (~5min), then follow with Lipikar (moisture + occlusive).

Also keep it simple with a basic cleanser.

I spent 2 years destroying my skin with actives (Tretinoin, Tazarotene, Salicylic Acid). Now I follow a basic routine like the one Ive mentioned above and my skin is no longer compromised and back to normal. I’m back on Tret 0.05% and tolerating it well.

Reply if u got any more questions

Yes, but it's been 2 months since I've been doing that : supplying moisture with Hada Labo and Avène Hydrance Boost and locking it in with either Cicaplast (PM) or Lipikar (AM)
And my skin still feels like shit

Is it red, irritated, dry? Or just tight?

And you’ve cut all other actives out?

Yes, I cut out actives way before that too. My timeline is
June-August-1st half of september: using way too many actives (salycilic acid, azelaic acid, vitC, even glycolic acid at some point)
2nd half of september to november: spending massive amounts on skincare trying different things but I was too impatient and kept hopping between products. No more actives
November to now: the routine in my OP. I tried removing the Urea for a week, did nothing. The Hada Labo I actually added it two weeks ago too, no difference either.

And what’s the state of your skin right now?

Acne is fine. I still have some but nowhere near as bad, tret will take care of it once I can get back on it.
Still, pores are quite enlarged and texture is very rough.
It's not flaky, scaly or anything but it feels really weird. As I said it feels tight and "burning".

I can DM pics if you want.

It's just good for redness, does great what it's supposed to do. I have 1 litre of cicaplast in my drawer.
That shit expensive asf where did you get so much from?

There was 25% off sale for christmas so I loaded up on cicaplast and cicaplast lip balm. I use it on back too so it gets used pretty quickly.

Nah, just sleep well and stop using caffeine or nicotine. I tried caffeine and green tea eye serum but it does nothing tbh.

So what do you think I should do then? Right now I'm set on going amok and just using cicaplast like @moggerofmoggers said. Tired of this shit
