I don't see things destabilizing because they already have a plan to stabilize the west after economic troubles, it will be through more control. I doubt people will fight those advances. The governments have international support and they'll be acting against their respective populace top-down. Not only does the populace not have organization or funding but also they don't have any non controlled elites. Also, if there were any non controlled elites for the populace, trust in them would be low (possibility of them being feds etc.). I hardly imagine anything being done, best you can hope for is being able to go out the boundaries of their new system. That hopefully they won't pursue you, if you lay low.
