Face Bloating / Water Retention
I see people saying cut all sodium or stop drinking water if you want a lean face and thats just wrong.Your body holds onto water for a reason. It doesn't just randomly happen.
The biggest things that affect it are
- Sodium
- Water
- Sleep
- Stress
- Carbs
- Alcohol
Sodium
Sodium isn't bad.If you eat a lot of sodium one day and barely any the next your body is more likely to hold onto water.
Just keep your sodium around the same amount every day instead of constantly changing it.
Water
Drink enough water. If you're dehydrated your body actually tries to hold onto more water.
Drinking less water usually makes it worse.
I usually drink around 4-5 litres a day (enhanced btw) Pepsi Max counts as its mostly water
Carbs
Carbs store water. If you have a huge cheat meal don't be surprised if your face looks puffier the next day.
Its water, not fat.
Sleep
Bad sleep can make your face look way more bloated.Get enough sleep if you actually care about how your face looks.
Stress
Stress increases cortisol.Higher cortisol can make you retain more water.
Alcohol
Alcohol dehydrates you then your body tries to replace that water.Thats why people usually wake up looking puffy after drinking.
How to avoid bloating
Drink enough water every day.Keep your sodium consistent.
Get enough sleep.
Exercise.
Eat foods with potassium like potatoes, bananas and spinach.
Don't eat a massive amount of processed food every day.
Don't drink alcohol if you care about how your face looks the next morning.
Diuretics
Coffee can make you pee a little more but its not going to completely debloat your face.Prescription diuretics aren't made for cosmetic use. They're for people with medical conditions.
Using them just to look lean can cause dehydration and electrolyte problems.
At the end of the day the best way to have a lean face is just keeping your water, sodium, sleep and diet consistent. Most people aren't holding a crazy amount of water, they're just inconsistent with everything.
