How to become popular in a fresh start?

Assume you are going somewhere new like a university where most people don’t know each other. How do you become popular or well liked etc?
Any advice, are there even ‘popular’ people in universities?

You talk with as many people as you can, you form your own social group or "clique", you throw parties, invite people to hang out, go with them in bars, nightclubs, cinemas, theaters, to events, concerts, trips, etc... Don't wait for others to invite you, this rarely happens unless you're a girl or a good-looking, already popular guy.

Tbh i’ve want to eventually say fuck it and get into drugs but I want to research shit correctly and practice not getting addicted.
Yeah looks halo is important so I am maxxing that.
