How to boil water so I can cook pasta

Does anyone know how? I put it on 8 on the stove, and I take off the cover when it starts boiling, add the pasta, then what?

U don’t need to put lid on

usually you don’t want to have the water boiling while the pasta is cooking. a light simmer (small bubbles) is fine.

get it to a boil, keep the top off, drop pasta in.

learn how to make carbonara. super cheap and good.
