Yeah maybe you could put such a small trace amount in a larger amount of something less valuable, like wheat or salt... or you could dissolve the illegal substance in a fluid that would pass border control (like ink)

Whenever I need to transport and hide kilos of cocaine for the cartel, I always hide em up my bootyhole. You'd think they'd check but I guess the idea of several kilos of cocaine up my ass seems too comical so they don't bother checking.
You could probably do the same.
