got broken up with a few months ago, my first and only girlfriend ever, and although I’m mostly past it all I can think about is that when I die, all my memories will be of her, and not those who actively love me, like my family. any way to cope with this or does it just take time

Time will pass and so will the feelings, not forever, but to a lesser extent. I don't know how you are, but one usually gets used to it, just don't dwell too much on it, the past is the past.

thanks a lot man, you’re right. it’s how I’ve been handling it but I’m just not good with stopping myself from thinking about it so currently. i have so many unexpressed feelings towards her that i wish I could get out. it’s like they’re trapped in me and they want to leave but they’re rotting away inside my head. but thank you, I’ll keep moving like i have been and maybe dwell on those thoughts less.
