How to cope with slow Hair growth?

I am currently constantly ascending, only due to the fact of getting longer hair. I know roughly know what straight hair length I need, but that would take 4 months to gain 5 cm. HOW CAN I DISTRACT MYSELF FROM THIS SLOW PROCESS?

10cm-3cm (Rest of old stupid perm) >> 12cm
Side:
1cm >> 6 cm
