I think the best method is: comb all the hair forward for a textured fringe, take the scissors and do the "point cut" method; it's easy and doesn't give a "straight" effect.

Cut with dry or slightly damp hair. Start by washing, drying almost all of it, and combing the bangs forward, in the position you actually wear them every day. Define the length before cutting. Use your fingers to hold the bangs at the desired point and always leave 1 to 2 cm extra, because hair shrinks when it dries completely. Cut vertically, never straight. With the scissors pointed upwards, make small snips. This avoids that "straight ruler" effect and makes the cut more natural. Cut a little at a time. Make a snip, release the hair, look in the mirror, and only then continue. Going slowly is the secret to not making mistakes. For slightly layered bangs, tilt the scissors diagonally and remove only the ends. Don't cut too deep to avoid creating holes. If the bangs are side-swept, comb them to the side you wear them and cut following the natural fall of the hair, always vertically. Finish by combing again and adjusting only the ends that are uneven. Avoid using clippers or a razor if you don't have practice.

What I do is i normally cut just above eyebrows, and if it’s too thick or dense I get a thinning scissors on only snipe it once in the middle, make sure you do it once and careful where or else you’ll look like your balding (trust me I’ve got personal expirence from that:feelswah:)
