You think you look like shit when you wake up? Well its not placebo, you do and in this thread we’ll learn why and how can you do to debloat.

This facial puffiness you notice in the morning or that spawns randomly in the day is not due to magic, its causes vary and they are most of the time simple shitty habits you can avoid to look better the entire day.

The main causes:

The most common ones (i’m not gonna spend a decade on them and if you don’t respect them what are you even doing in this forum brah 😭): Lack of sleep, lack of electrolytes in the system, slept in the flat position (this is due to the reflux of your fluids to your face mainly because of gravity and the slowing activity of your system when in inactivity or sleep state)
Potassium/Sodium ratio : The SIMPLIFIED role of Sodium on the skin is to prevent water loss in order to keep it hydrated and supple meaning it will cause water retention while the SIMPLIFIED role of Potassium is to regulate the amount of sodium in your body by increasing urine production. So the bloat can be caused by an overcomsuption of Sodium or a lack of Potassium in the system.
HPA axis overactivity: this is the traduction of high cortisol in tiktok slang language. This cortisol is released the adrenal cortex and its effect is useful but can easily be overproduced in the modern society (working a 9-5, stressing interactions or meetings...). It promotes weight gain as it is a physiological reaction that prepares your body for survival so naturally it will increase mineral and organic consumption of food.

Cortisol pathway HPA axis dysfunction
Conclusion: by reading all of this you can understand that the main problem here is the retention of the fluids in your body caused mainly by simple habits.

Potassium/Sodium ratio :
First of all what you need to be aware is the health of your gut health (the variety of the microbiome which you can increase with the consumption of fermented foods like kefir or cheese that you can do at home and by correctly digesting your foods by chewing slowly and eating consistent meals) because it will highly impact your electrolyte absorption (Bacteria in the microbiome facilitate electrolyte consumption and absorption by producing short-chain fatty acids that will break them). Some people recommend 4:1 Potassium to Sodium ratio, i'd say this is too brutal as Sodium is an important mineral for the body so i'd recommend a 2:1 Potassium to Sodium ratio.
HPA axis : In order to regulate cortisol levels you have to improve the quality of your sleep by respecting the quality of your sleep (circadian rhythm and lightning).
You can also lower it by spending time outside or listening to music (you become what you listen to!) but you can also take supplements like Ashwaganda or Rhodiola to lower cortisol.

1773425249350

The amounts of melatonin are higher in your body when you sleep in the dark (around 1 lux) (in grey) or in intermittent bright light as you get (~9,500 lux) as your sleep hormones peak after each intervals without light (C and D).
Diuretics: These are medications that increase the excretion of water and salt (sodium) from the body through urine, reducing fluid buildup. ex: Spironolactone or Furosemide (both can be found in your local pharmas i think)
1773426120082

As you can see diuretics cause a global electrolytes excretion, so what i would recommend taking are Aldosterone antagonists (Spironolactone...) and Epithelial Sodium Channel Blocker(Chloride...) as they maintain the levels of Potassium in your fluids.
Conclusion: It's easy as hell and you've got nothing to lose as everything is in your reach, i recommend you doing research on your own as i am not a viable source of knowldge.
Thank you a lot, i did my best so please don't roast the shit out of me:forcedsmile:
