My dad is in his mid 40s and still has a good hairline despite smoking, being overweight and diabetic, my grandfather from my mother’s side kept his hair for a long time too, and almost all my relatives keep their hair until their 50s except my uncle from my mom’s side.

Now I know that there’s a 90% chance I have my dad’s hair growth and hair loss pattern, but if I somehow got the hair loss genetics, how do I delay that process?

Genetics are the only reason your dad still has hair.

Only way to keep your hair is finasteride.

Smoking moves the hairline back tbh
More like aging, when you are already old moves the hairline back.

Anyway answer is Dutasteride. No DHT and you will have your mothers hairline at even 60

Those are two different people and twins. One smoked the other didn’t.

Good enviroment might help a little. Only way is to use dut or fin

It all depends on your inherited sensitivity to DHT. Nothing you can really do to prevent it

Minoxidil use and steroids speed the balding process a little bit.

How does minoxidil use speed it up? I know steroids do, but how does minox?
It makes the hairs replace faster. It doesn’t just push the vellus and transitional hairs, it pushes all hairs out. That leads to hair maturity and sooner balding. Although I don’t think the difference is huge. So if you used minox for 2 years and you genetically bald at 50, you may start balding at 48.

Makes sense. Does this apply at all if I’m using it for eyebrows?

Yes since it enters your blood. If you’re noticing any effect in your general body hair that means your scalp hair change is taking place too.
