How to differentiate between feeling genuinely depressed and a normal mental state

Constantly thinking that you are depressed is exhausting, but it’s also bad for your mental state too.

I don’t feel like I want to rope, nor do I find it extremely difficult to do basic things like shower or brush my teeth; with that being said though, I feel somehow restless, like I’m never really at peace with myself at all.

Just this never-ending sense of emptiness, I also think that unlike a lot of people I don’t really believe any achievement/status/possession of some kind could fix my problem. Like I know that even if I were a chad for example, I’d still feel like this.

Maybe someone can relate to this.
