How to ensure I get prescribed Palatal Expander

I need to ensure I get a palatal expander on my next visit to the dentist. What symptoms/problems should I describe to ensure my chances? I have a narrow + high palate, flat maxilla, and unaligned jaw (due to slight TMJ). I also have a slight underbite and crossbite.
