So I’ve got diagnosed with a severely recessed & narrow Maxilla, due to trauma (fell from the stairway & broke my upper front teeth).
Both my parents have chadlike bone structure = Wide Jaws, high & prominent Zygos, forward grown Maxilla’s.
So my genetics used to be good in that regard but became a mess during puberty, since my old orthodontist didn’t do his job correctly.
Now I’ve got an underbite, asymmetrical Jaw & Lip alignment, recessed cheekbones, narrow Mandible, scleral show, crowding teeth, very prominent nose & also do suffer from sleep apnea & TMJ.
It does make me crazy, especially since my jaw genetics weren’t bad at all.
My orthodontist urged me to go for Maxilla advancement surgery to solve the sleep apnea & TMJ. Probably even widen it.
However I am concerned about the change in looks.
Advancing the lower part of the maxilla would make my cheekbones appear even more flat, my mandible even narrower & the hollow cheeks would vanish.
Is there any way to reach my genetic jaw potential or is the damage basically irreversible?
