I’m turning 14 next month I’m alr getting a palate expander and braces with elastic for overbite and some other device I gotta wear diagonally on teeth before I get braces what ortho device do I need I think it looks worse because my lips pout over since I’m recessed

I also got a palate expander a few months ago, I am a similar age to you about 2 years older It really didn't do much for my chin, my teeth flared out and my face did get wider you should def do some research don't make the same mistake as me, you should get a twin block or a herbst device they will still be effective at your age combined with braces and a palatal expander.

The palate expander made it hard to keep correct tounge posture though,since it is blocking half of your tounge from the roof of your mouth The elastics push back your maxilla though, I would try to be aware of that

Ya that’s the only bad part abt the palate expander I won’t be able to mew but it will fix my face tho after all my devices are done I’m getting the herbst appliance I’m pretty sure which will project chin so I’m good on devices now

only hope is to eat as much meat/eggs/dairy as you can and hope your bones grow.

Chewing 30 minutes a day/1 hour may help slightly but this is speculative
