How to fix short face syndrome ?

Apparently I have short face syndrome
I already planned a genio, but I've read if I fixed my low (100-105°) gonial angle , my face would get automatically taller
So is genio better than Chinwing which increases gonial angle ?

This dude got BiMax and genio , no way I need that much advancement. I just need more chin and little bit higher gonial angle , what surgeries would achieve that ?

Bimaxillary advancement with clockwise rotation and downgrafting is the only way to fix SFS.

It costs about $25,000 all together including braces, surgery, follow-up consultations etc.

Post a photo of you smiling and we'll see if you have a case that warrants surgery

Based on the smiling photo above, you may have it very mildly. I would need a video / more pics to confirm. I can see all your teeth including the gingiva which indicates you don't have it, but I can't see how hard you have to smile to make all your teeth show since I can't see the rest of your face.

There's basically 0% chance insurance would cover it. I have SFS much worse than you and I saw 5 surgeons - none of them said it could be covered on insurance so I would forget about that possibility for you.

Nothing wrong with your looks tbh. Though that pic could be frauded by lighting.

An SFS diagnosis is determined partly by how much incisor show you have at rest. If you open your mouth normally, do your top teeth show?

Why would he care about my short face isnt that only an appearance thing? I need bsso + genio + lefort 1 with upwards rotation.

When i jut my lower jaw forward the teeth in the upper arch are inclined inward compared to the bottom. I thought only upwards rotation is possible.

So I smile not forced with lips closed then open my lips , in mirror I can see slight red flesh and my top teeth are fully visible when opening mouth , this is the pic I took rn

A true short face is when you have poor incisor show at rest, a weak smile and vertically compressed soft tissue:

If you have any of those clinical features, then a surgeon wouldn't have suggested upward rotation for you. It just wouldn't make any sense. If you have any of those features then a downgraft is indicated, not impaction...

Unlikely you qualify for SFS then, but go and see a maxfac if you want confirmation. Don't ever let aspies here diagnose your issue - go and see a specialist.

I have poor incisor show and a weak smile, what do you mean about the soft tissue .

What would be suggested when the whole upper palate is shifted inwards with the teeth. Surgeon told me an upwards rotation of the maxilla will be needed and it makes sense

The problem is that i already have a short mandible and a vertically short chin. It will depend on the advancements when it comes to how short my face will look after. No?

I dunno man, your case doesn't sound straight forward. Trust the surgeon (or shop around for another opinion), just when I hear 'I have a short face but getting impaction' that doesn't sound right to me. But I don't know the full context.
