I want to get jaw surgery to bring my jaw forward + upward but I’m scared that if I go as I am right now I’ll get chimp-maxed.
My philtrum area is convex + bulges out. You can’t really tell from the side, from the side my lips just look like a fish (lip incompetence?) but it gives an apeish look; it’s especially noticeable in shadowed lighting. Why do my lips protrude like that, and not sit flat on my face?
Do I have bimaxillary protrusion? I thought that was the issue, but the only solutions seem to be extracting teeth which seems like a bad idea.
Is it a better idea to leave the mouth alone, but bring my chin forward + bring upper maxilla forward/ put an implant in the upper maxilla to bring them in line with the lips?
Ideally, I’d like to somehow flatten my mouth, which would initially make me look even worse (it would be revealing how recessed I truly am; I believe that the bimaxillary protrusion makes me look LESS recessed than I actually am, because if you look at the position of my chin and where the inner corner of my nose starts, the are very far back, but in line with each other) then go for jaw surgery to bring the jaw forward + upward, probably need genio for recessed chin + upper maxilla implant to bring it in line with the new position of the lower jaw, though it would be even better to do lefort 2 to bring my bone forward instead of having to use an implant.
Thoughts??
