yes, but most of it is just learning the moves, iq only matters a bit, a 70iq guy that play only chess beats a first time 150iq player i think

Correct.

Regarding your original inquiry though, all you have to do is improve is play bots on chess.com that are the equivalent to your current level. Once you believe you've become a master at defeating that said bot, advance to a more difficult bot, and repeat this.

You can also just simply play people online through chess.com, but I find that I (negatively) overthink moves against actual people which leads me to losing most of the time. I guess it's just a form of anxiety.

Anyways, my last tips:

Familiarize yourself with a opening for both white and black. And finally, do chess puzzles to increase skill.

Chess is just pattern recognition. The pros know al the beginings in an out. Try to memorize you favourite openings and focus on just thinking ahead

What's your Elo? If you're sub-2k, most of your losses are not even necessarily because of obvious blunders, but because of inaccuracies. So just grind puzzles and improve your opening repertoire

im having struggles reaching 500 elo man.... i started like a month ago and play like 2 games of 10min a day avr

Learn an opening for white and stick to it, watch youtube videos frequently, but not grandmasters like hikaru because it will be hard to understand, now the most important part is mastering basic endgames since they can always bail you out, out of bad situations also depending on your level right now basic puzzles might be the most important, do them everyday before playing and then after playing. I have achieved 2000 elo so you can listen to me

yeah but that's only the first move, just look up openings for begginers on youtube, there are no "best" openings just use whatver you like
