To achieve a taller or more prominent ramus (the vertical part of the lower jaw), here are some approaches!
Orthodonics
- Mewing: Proper tongue posture, also known as "mewing," is believed by some to influence facial development over time, but it's fucking over if you're older 12.
- Orthodontic Appliances: Orthodontic appliances like MARA or Herbst are devices used to encourage jaw growth, especially in younger people whose bones are still growing. They can help make the jaw taller if used early enough, typically during the teenage years.
Exercises
- Jaw exercise: Some jaw exercises can help strengthen the masseter muscles, potentially giving the jaw a more defined appearance. However, these exercises won’t exactly increase ramus height but might improve the jaw’s overall look.
- Chew exercise: Using gum or specific jaw training tools (like Jawzrsize) might help build muscle around the jaw.
Hard maxxing
- Jaw surgery (Orthognathic Surgery): This is the most effective way to increase ramus height in adults. Through orthognathic surgery, a maxillofacial surgeon can adjust the jaw and increase ramus height for a more balanced profile.
