Use tretinoin, start with 0.25% first, if you don't see results raise to a 0.5%. I recommend acretin.

i am currently on epiduo ( adapalene+benzoyl peroxide) and thinking of moving to tret soon once tolerance is built up, is exfoliating still necessary

I started on tazret 0.05%, it was brutal but I can handle it now

If skin is your best feature then you are done for, it is an organ not a feature.
