I did a ketamine guide so heres a cocaine one
1. Leaf Extraction (Coca Paste)
Start with 1kg dried coca leaf (0.5-1.5% alkaloid content by weight)
Macerate the leaf — mechanical shredder or stomped in a pit lined with plastic
Add 200-400g sodium carbonate or calcium hydroxide (slaked lime)
Mix to coat the leaf evenly — you want pH 10-11
Add 2-3 liters kerosene or gasoline — enough to saturate the mass
Agitate every 30 minutes for 3-4 hours at ambient temperature
Let the solvent phase separate from the leaf mulch
Stage 2 — Acid Back-Extraction
Add 250ml dilute sulfuric acid (10% v/v) to the kerosene extract
Stir vigorously for 5 minutes, then let settle — the acid layer is denser and sinks
Target pH in the acid layer: 2-4
Drain the bottom acid layer — this is crude coca paste solution
Evaporate excess water to get paste consistency (roughly 40-60% purity, brownish)
Stage 3 — Oxidative Purification
Dissolve paste in 1-2 liters dilute sulfuric acid per kilo of paste
Warm to 40-50°C in a glass or stainless vessel
Prepare potassium permanganate solution (1-2g per 100ml water)
Add dropwise with stirring — solution turns purple, then brown as MnO₂ precipitates
Continue until a faint pink color persists for 30+ seconds
Critical: excess permanganate oxidizes the cocaine itself — stop at first persistent pink
Filter through cloth or filter paper to remove the brown MnOâ‚‚ sludge
Stage 4 — Basification (Freebase Precipitation)
Take the filtered acidic solution
Add concentrated ammonia slowly with constant stirring
Target pH: 9-10
Cocaine freebase precipitates as an off-white flocculent solid
Filter, wash the solid with cold distilled water, press dry
Result: purified cocaine base, 85-90%+ purity
Stage 5 — Hydrochloride Salt Formation
Dissolve freebase in acetone at ~10ml per gram of base (or diethyl ether for cleaner crystals)
Solution should be completely clear — if cloudy, filter first
Add concentrated HCl (37%) dropwise with stirring
Cocaine HCl crashes out immediately as white crystalline precipitate
Continue until no more solid forms
Filter the crystals, wash with small portions of ice-cold acetone
Dry at 40-50°C or under vacuum until constant weight
Expected Yield
1kg coca leaf → 8-12g cocaine HCl at 85-95% purity
1 metric ton leaf → 8-12kg finished product
Crack Conversion (Detailed)
Dissolve 1g cocaine HCl in 10ml warm water
Add 200-400mg sodium bicarbonate (adjust ratio for purity — more cut means more soda)
Heat gently with continuous stirring — CO₂ bubbles off
An oily layer separates and solidifies into a solid mass as temperature rises
Remove the solid, cool under running water, break into pieces
Final purity: 70-90% freebase depending on starting material quality
Common Failure Points
pH too low during extraction → alkaloids stay in leaf, yield crashes
Too much permanganate → cocaine oxidized to norcocaine, potency drops
Wet acetone during HCl conversion → oily product instead of crystals
Overheating during crack conversion → burns the product, harsh taste
