How to get rid of ingrown hairs following shaving?

Maybe it's an idiotic question but this stuff has been annoying me for a while. When I shave it's barely noticeable and luckily I've got no major acne to make things worse. However a few days after it's always a pain.

I do that and it does help with the hairs on my face but that area underneath my chin is always dark :/
