Get your own real interest in the subject, find a love or obsession to it, make it fun to learn and listen, try understanding and being bipartisan when it comes to politics, and understand all sides of the argument. Make yourself want to dive deeper after learning theory. The base course should probably be just learning AP NSL Gov, then expanding based off of that and your own interests. also try to buy some more advanced books that portray different worldviews, eg das kapital, machiavelli, plato, hobbes, locke, rousseau,
