Also, protein builds muscle, carbs get atored in the muscles for energy.
That’s because of little bit of growth and neural adaptationWhen I started training pull ups, I went from 1 to 10 in a month, thats not because of muscle growth its mind to muscle connection.
The guys with the biggest muscles doesn't lift the heaviest.

You can either do weighted pull ups, cut weight, or train more explosive. There is no reason you should be in a Plateau that long. If you specifically notice you fail at let’s say forehead up to chin, you can specifically practice just that portion of the pull up, I’ve found that helps.
