Similar to muscle, putting a strain on your bone over time will signal to the body that it needs to be stronger in that position, so the osteoclasts will take down damaged bone cells and the osteoblasts will use these nutrients to constuct new cells with the DNA of the last, but with epigenetic adaptation to better deal with the new stress, now whether they make more bone cells, or the same bone cells that are just stronger, comes down to your nutrient and minerals.
Nutrition can not be overlooked when conducting such an endevour, as bone remodelling takes many many years and is not a fast process, it is important to be consistent with stress/tension on the bone, sleep, and nutrition. The key nutrients are Vitamin D, calcium, K2, magnesium, and zinc. K2 is the main nutrients that will want your osteoblasts to work in overdrive to create more bone cells with whatever other nutrients it has to form new bone, whether you have osteoclasts decontructing bone cells for these nutrients or ideally consuming these nutrients bones are made up of exogenously, as to not deteriorate too much of what you already have.
