How to improve skin/use retinol without looking like a ghost in the summer

Im naturally pretty pale, but since last year i've been extra pale with no chance of tanning cuz i ran accutane while using spf50 last summer.

I still have some texture on my forehead and slight redness left after the treatment. Is there anyway i can get a little tanner while still improving my skin. Idk what i should prioritize either, sunscreen or getting more tan
