I'm nw1 or .5
Only have slightness baldness on my temples
Gonna start minoxidil topical and dut everyday because i still have a few hairs left on my temples so it's recoverable i guess

My question is
after i get my hairs back i see people saying if i stop minoxidil i will lose all the hairs i grew so how do i keep them

Don't just say keep using minoxidil for life as it's so tough to use it my skin gets flaky and sensitive and stinging due to the alcohol and water based solutions don't work as good and are hard to find

fin/dut

The issue is the androgens raping your scalp
Dht is the most potent androgen so blocking it should work
If ur worried about systemic effects use topical finasteride or RU58841

I'm saying i will use dut but stopping minoxidil will still make me lose hairs how to stop that

If you mean topical Dut, it unfortunately still goes systemic btw. Some influencer used it and their DHT was significantly lower.

Idek what your question is though tbh. Phone 1%, responding when home.

Have you considered switching to a low dose of oral minoxidil instead of topical minoxidil for the sake of convenience and preventing flaking?

Unfortunately, the hair will fall if you stop. There is no way to keep the hair growth from minoxidil and dutasteride indefinitely, as far as I know.

I'm gonna rewrite it all for you

I have nw.5 to 1 just on my temples i still have few hairs left on my temples whuch means it can be reversed

So I'm gonna take topical minoxidil and oral dutasteride .5mg

When i get my hair back on my temples i am gonna continue using dutasteride but stop minoxidil because it makes the area red and stingy

But I've read that stopping minoxidil causes all hairs which have been grown to shed

My question is how do i keep all my hairs gains on my temples and not let them shed

Minoxidil extends the anagen phase of the hair cycle.
Stopping it will increase the telogen phase of the hair cycle relative to the anagen phase (as the anagen phase will be shorter).
The anagen phase is the growth phase, telogen phase is the dormant phase.
Essentially, once the growth phase stops, you'll shed a bit.
There is no way to avoid this outside of taking something that will extend the anagen phase of the hair cycle, but AFAIK only minoxidil can do this. You could try dosing minoxidil sublingually to reduce serum levels and still maintain efficacy in regards to hair growth.
But, you might just need to deal with the fact you'll shed a bit. Maybe stop minoxidil long after regrowth occurs.

best bet would be to taper it off, but even then youll likely see shedding

And should i microneedle my temples or will it cause scarring? Google says micro needling too deep and frequently causes scarring but even if i do shallow and less frequently, a injury even if it's very small it still causes scars and small injuries over a period of time leaves less space on my temples to grow hair
