Abs are a good indicator but we are also leanmaxxing for a lean face too, usually id say leanmaxxing is complete when you have a really strong jawline/no bloated look/cheekbones(if you have the structure for it), like facial aesthetics are basically an indicator of being lean/good physique so its a desirable quality to have
