So this is based on my experience, and I’m not gonna tell y’all to do illegal stuff or start a business, I’m gonna present a strategy that most certainly will land you at least a 60k dollar a year job (up to 80k) at 18.
So first you have to learn the foundations of cybersecurity, you can do it with tryhackme’s pre security and cyber security 101 paths or hackthebox’s junior cybersecurity analyst path. After that, the next step is completing hackthebox’s penetration tester job role path and passing the final exam. It’s super rigorous, so by this point skills-wise you should be highly employable, but you lack credibility: That’s where the final step comes in, taking the OSCP.
it’s quite expensive, but it’s the closest thing you have to a golden ticket to enter a penetration testing role, you can take it at 16/17 if you do the process for it, and there should be nothing stopping you from being able to land AT LEAST a 60k/year role at just 18. Works better if you’re not already 18 obviously, and since at 18 you’re most likely still living with your parents, you can use this money for any business plan, investment or any shit you want to do. (If you’re already 18, maybe other methods are better, but if you’re 16-17, this one might be one of the best)

The difference is that if you start early it will get you a job at 18, straight out of high school, no need to spend another 4 years in college.
Most people your age would be making less than half working at McDonald’s, and spending all of it to go to college, while you would be saving all of the money you make.

Nigger the OSCP costs 2700 dollars + no retakes, that's one exam, if you want Learn One that takes 3600 dollars, whose daddy is gonna pay their 17 year old kid for this exam. (I'm a pen tester). I test bitches as well KEK.

I have the CPTS too and ngl, it is being way more recognized now by HR, it is brutal and you will crash out atleast 5 times a day, it goes for 10 days and you will pay with your sanity. Its not an entry level cert, you need a good foundation of coding and IT to be able to do the exam. They're lying to you that you can just do the modules in the pentester pathway and then take the CPTS. They have CPTS prep track now, do some boxes LOL, and there are hard and insane level machines on it. The attack chain in CPTS is brutal and you'll need to pivot atleast 21 times, OSCP is a walk in the park compared to CPTS, its just you have to do it in 24 hours.

Pen testing is not easy and you're competing with every curry ever. Good luck


Word of advice: Just make friends, you can be dog shit at testing and get your first role that way, so unless you're chad, that path is blocked for you, so again....good luck
