Step 1: learn to code(python most useful)

Step2:go to the YouTube channel serious backtester the reason why I say go to him specifically is because he tests strategies on hundreds of stocks over hundreds of thousands of trades to see if the strat actually works

Step3: find a strategy on his channel that’s proven to make money then automate it using python(or other language)

Step4: make money

I automated one of his strats on a 1m timeframe and it averages 14% profit per year, if you trade with options the profit should be even higher, if you trade futures the profit once again should be higher than even options. But risk increases

And takes 0 seconds to just blindly invest in the S&P500 and average 12%/year.

2% alpha is big when you have a large equity, sure, but doubt most people with such amounts of equity will read this thread, let alone not have it managed by some fund manager
