Yes it is wider in that photo for sure,
Remember mm is everything in facial aesthetics
however we can’t say for sure if it was down to his techniques as he is still in puberty.
The biggest reason we can’t tell is because of lens distortion , if he moved his phone a little closer or a little back , or the lighting was slightly different (which it is), this could distort his palate not by much but remember that not by much is everything, mm makes a chad vs a truecel.

Take the photo the exact same as the last one, same lighting same distance , and same angle , close as possible
And importantly in the first one where you smiling as hard as you can? As it’s important you smile the exact same too.

I’m not an orthodontist lol so I wouldn’t advise you to try this
You need braces to actually have one of those installed too,
You can buy the gear online though .
I am looking for an ortho on here to guide me how to use one safely as I am interested in this too.
