i am on tret 0.05% started using vitamin c during day time to clear the hyperpigmentation, seen good results, but what combo can i use to make the process even more faster, i have some scars on my face (pitted scars) and hyperpigmentation.

sometime i use:
1) hylauranic acid
2) snail serum
3) chemical peeler by ordinary

what else i can go for ? azelaic acid? i have hormonal cystic acne tho.

You can just stick to your routine and down the line you'll see the results you want, skincare takes time, specially with retinoids.
  1. Great routine, antioxidants + sunscreen in the AM, retinoids in the PM. the basic foundational stick.
  2. For hyperpigmentation, if you really wanna see results faster, I'd use hydroquinone in the PM as well, sticking to a concentration of 4-6%, or nothing greater than 10% (or you're fucking up your skin even more). Mix it with the tretinoin and use it in the same way, of course this is a strong active that's prescription only, so use it smartly and discontinue once you reach your skin goals
  3. Azelaic Acid is a great option as well.
  4. I have no comments on snail serum, sounds like a snake oil...

  5. Hylauranic acid by itself isn't great, it's all big skincare marketing, an oil or a normal moisturizer is all you need, if you experience dryness from the tretinoin it's literally a matter of waiting it out.
  6. I personally do not like The Ordinary chemical peel, I think it's too strong, specially when you're using tretinoin. Your skin exfoliates itself, so if you're new to the tretinoin, I would wait before even considering any heavy AHA or BHA, but if you really want to, a mild AHA once a week is fine, later on you can use a BHA, but overall, I wouldn't use the ordinary peel at all, not now, not ever.

thank you bro i was thinking of using hydroquinone too, plus yeah i layer the tret with a cetaphil moistrizer in PM, for fast results i am using tret in PM And AM too, seeing good results, should i stop using it twice a day?

should i stop using it twice a day?
Yes. Tretinoin is only recommended to be used in the PM for three reasons:
  1. Retinoids are easily degraded by sunlight, meaning if you're exposed to the sun after applying it and it hasn't been fully absorbed, some of that tretinoin is getting broken and becoming ineffective.
  2. Tretinoin makes your sun sensitivity WORSE, meaning that again, if you get exposed to the sun (even with sunscreen, also, btw, use it ALWAYS), you're at much greater risk of sun-related damage and skin cancer.
  3. Tretinoin is a very unstable molecule, no matter what any time you apply it (and specially during the peeling process) you're causing an inflammatory response in your skin. This is bad because you already have hyperpigmentation, so your tretinoin may be giving you post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and slowing down progress. Using more amounts of tretinoin than recommended or skipping the adaptation process (to minimize peeling) is going to give you ironically slower results and a worse overall experience
