What's this guide about?
In this guide i'll be going over the essence of the hyoid bone and what you could do to improve it. Covering both softmax solutions and hardmax solutions.

What is the hyoid bone?
The hyoid bone sits right under your chin. It's connected to multiple muscles in and around your neck with the most important being your tongue. This bone is resposible for giving your jawling a sharp or sagging look. Luckily this is quite easy to understand and has a few pretty easy fixes.
What causes a sagging hyoid bone?
The reason your hyoid could give a sagging appearance has a few different reasons, Both genetic and not. The genetic reason could involve a narrow palate. In this case your palate does not have enough space for your tongue to properly rest. It has to compensate this negative space which will result in your hyoid bone slightly hanging lower than ideal. Another reason could be that your tongue posture is incorrect. You basically don't make use of the space in your mouth which will give the same result. This is most common with mouth breathers because they have an incorrect posture to be able to let air through.
Narrow palate.
If you have a narrow palate there is only one thing to fix it. This is getting an orthodontic palate expander. This will be placed at the top of your palate putting pressure on both sides of the palate. This will then result in your palate expanding over time creating more space for your tounge to rest giving the hyoid a more thight appearance. But this process will cost time and money.
Tounge posture (mewing).
As i mentioned before, the tounge posture is very important. This is because your tounge is directly connected to the hyoid bone. So if you don't make use of the room in your mouth, the hyoid will still sag. The correct posture is pushing your tounge up against your palate. Most importantly the back part of your palate, since this part has the most influence. This will also force you to nose breath.
Exercises
There are multiple exercises that could help tighten up your hyoid bone. They esentially strenghten your neck and the muscles connected to the hyoid, resulting in a thighter look. Some examples of these Exercices are chintucks and neckcurls. Chintucks are more of a stretching exercise. You tuck in your chin which puts pressure on the muscles connected to the hyoid. Neckcurls however are a more strenght training type of exercices. You lay down flat with your head sticking out and then stretch your neck as far backwards as possible, and then stretching it back inwards again. People mostly do this exercice weighted. They put a small plate on their forehead to add extra pressure.
This was my first high effort guide so i hope it helps!
