Lifestyle:
Make sure to not reveal your obsession with one single thing too heavily if it’s obscure/niche. Sports is fine but German tanks pre WW2 is going to be famishing for you.
Consume alcoholic beverages on occasions when with others and prompted to do so. Refrain from doing it by yourself if you aren’t truly attached to consuming alcoholic beverages. It is not socially enforced to take drugs so if you don’t want to that’s fine.
Attend any given social event where and when possible. Go out with your friends, go to any parties you see/hear about (given that it’s okay) and take all social opportunities of any form that involve networking with others and expanding your repertoire of social environments. Festivals and clubs are also good.
Also dress NT. Wear street wear and jeans and you’re good to go as long as you’re calm with the tops/hoodies (coats if you’re a UKcel).
Also make sure to prioritise your happiness over anyone else’s as being NT doesn’t mean being caring (not that putting yourself first is a bad trait).
Socialising
Try not to get too excited about anything that happens and unironically act fairly nonchalant. When with other people you don’t know so well you shouldn’t say too much other than the basics and only make jokes you know are funny at the right time. Bottom line is you should act chill, unless of course they are very giddy and excited themselves.
When approaching girls or talking to any new people there shouldn’t be any hesitation or faults in how you speak. You need to be confident that you know what you’re saying and how you can respond to any questions about yourself. Act quite casual too and try not to be frigid.
Think before you act. Don’t do things that you think you are meaning well with or that are harmless if it’s very possible for these actions to be taken the wrong way and can lead a person to thinking less of you or disliking you.
Social media
The three accounts you need are Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok (you don’t need to use these to doom scroll but you need an actual profile for the viewing of others. Don’t post anything non NT on your main accounts that people you know will follow. On tik tok it’s not compulsory to post at all, just have a few NT-ish reposts and a profile picture. On Instagram it is calm to have a few NT posts of you at social events and parties with your friends, make sure to also have Instagram highlights on your page. Snapchat is simply for messaging and posting on your story isn’t particularly NT there unless it is for someone’s birthday which isn’t done so much anymore.
Social cues and habits:
No finger cracking, no nail biting, no walking weird/with your head down, no autistic gazes at people (try to look up eye contact techniques but it’s pretty simple just to look at someone for not too long and with a kind/confident expression on your face).
If you’re talking to a woman and they keep looking away at their friend so they can stop talking to you then leave it. Don’t chase a woman but also don’t give up when you don’t have to if you’re super autistic and can’t even tell.
Read the room, look how people around you are feeling and how to best behave around this circumstance, you likely won’t be in the same level of emotional understanding as them so you have to pretend to be. Don’t always try to cheer people up if the situation is more than minor.
