i took the advice of joining a club

i feel like its still possible but harder to make friends at gym and martial arts classes cos theyre both lonely sports. no team involved, you have to be selfish in those sports

i think its best to join a team sport club to go on weekends/weekevenings

Best way to make friend is to do activities, work, or doing social event like parties.
Then as time pass by, you will encounter lot of people, you may connect with some of them, there your friendship may grow.

If you're asking this thinking it could happen all of sudden, it will not, it's kind of doing PUA but with social circle, it builds itself with time.
You shouldn't do it as an effort, because one day you will just drop them because it is too much of a hassle, hence what I said before.
