How to network

Hey, so basically from experience, networking has really saved my ass and other people's I know, and I’d like to know how I can network more efficiently if you know what I mean. I momentarily go to this high school with a bunch of rich, powerful people and I don't want to waste this opportunity. I want to befriend as many rich parents and kids as possible to potentially get opportunities in the future, any advice? btw am not trinna ldar on these people only get contacts.
