How to prevent facial scars ?

Lets assume the worst of the worst you have a workplace accident which a facial laceration happens to your face, how to prevent or minimise facial scarring tissue ?

I have a big scar on my face (under my right brow) from a bar fight. I've been using a dermaroller, vitamin E scar serum, and a bio oil on it, and I think it's gotten better. Scars and marks on me take a long time to heal though. You can get surgery on scars I believe if they're just really that bad.
