Here's a thread on how to place filler on the zygomatic bone correctly.
First, I want to point out that this guide is intended for people with low-set or less prominent zygomatic bones. If you already have naturally high-set cheekbones, this approach may not be appropriate for you.
Before explaining the technique, let's go over the most common mistakes.
Mistake #1: Placing the filler directly on the highest point of the zygomatic bone.
This is often recommended by practitioners, but in my opinion, it usually produces an unnatural result.
If your cheekbones are low-set rather than high-set, placing filler directly on the peak can actually emphasize that issue instead of improving it. Rather than creating a balanced, lifted appearance, it draws attention to the existing bone structure. It can also make it obvious that filler has been used, resulting in a less natural look.
Mistake #2: Injecting too much filler too high in one concentrated area.
When the filler is placed as a single, rounded mass, it can create the appearance of two separate peaks with a depression between them. This produces an unnatural contour and can make the cheeks look irregular rather than smooth and defined.
The correct approach
Instead, place the filler slightly above the peak of the zygomatic bone and distribute it gradually in a smooth, curved (parabolic) pattern.
The goal is to enhance the overall contour of the cheekbone rather than create a single prominent point. By spreading the filler evenly above the peak, you can create the illusion of a larger, more harmonious cheekbone while maintaining a smooth, natural transition with no obvious signs of filler.
