How to pull off the rugged look?

Tom Hardy is a boneless manlet and he can easily pull it off with a beard and muscles, is that easy? His face is nothing special either.

Gymcelpill + neckpill + beardpill + stop dressing like a kid + no collagen = rugged look?

Muscles are necessary. Imo stubble is better than a beard for this look. And tan is important too. Like Josh Holloway in Lost.
