How to remove bad smell from shoes?

I have a pair of keather shies and and a pair of running shoesthat I'd like to smell better in the inside. I can't dive the leather ones. I will wash the running shoes with detergent when there be more sun to dry then on the sun. What can I do ifir a quick fix

If they smell because of bacteria, put them into a plastic bag and into the freezer at -18 degrees. This will kill all bacteria.
