DISCLAIMER: This is not a shit-post, I'm dead serious about this guide, though I am not a medical expert so shower at your own sake.
Since I've seen no guides on how to shower correctly, I've decided to make my own as of reaching 1k posts.

1. HAIR CARE
Always wash hair first so residue from shampoo and conditioner can be washed off your skin later.

To begin, apply shampoo to your WET roots, massage into your scalp to remove excessive oils and product build up. Rinse 2-3 times.
Apply conditioner to the mid-lengths of your hair, leave it on while you proceed to next steps.

2. PHYSICAL EXFOLIATION (OPTIONAL, RECOMMENDED)
Exfoliation should happen before your final body wash to help rinse away dead skin cells.
Body Scrub: Apply to wet skin using circular motions. Focus on rough areas like elbows and knees. Use only 1-2 times per week. Rinse completely.

3. The Main Cleanse (Layering Tools & Soaps)
This phase removes dirt, sweat, and any leftover hair product.

Non-Scented Soap + Silicone Scrubber: Use this first. Apply the unscented soap to the hygienic silicone scrubber. Cleanse your entire body to remove actual dirt and bacteria without irritation. Rinse.

Scented Wash + African Net Sponge or Loofah: Use this second for a lather and scent.

  • Note: The African net sponge is excellent for reaching your back and air-dries quickly to prevent bacteria.
  • Note: The loofah creates a heavy lather but holds bacteria easily; replace it every 3 weeks. Rinse your body completely.

4. RINSE HAIR AND FACE CLEANSE
Rinse your hair and face last to ensure no acne-causing product sits on your skin.

Rinse your conditioner by tilting your head back and rinsing it out of your hair and off your back.

Wash your face last, this removes any shampoo, conditioner or body scrub residue from your hairline and face. Rinse with cold or lukewarm water.
