1. Be reasonably good looking
Most cult leaders can get away with being mtn because they’re selling a dream but anything below mtn is not acceptable people don’t want to listen to a subhuman talk about heaven, if you’re htn your way above looks level to start a group but it might work In your favor
2.find a group of sad/creative individuals
Jonestown was formed from a church, a place where people are normally coming because they’re on hard times or in a state of unrest most of them were Ltn’s/ltb’s by the standards of that time, in a way this forum should be your jumping off point find a group like this and sell them a dream, find a core tenet inside the group than idolize that until they do everything for it example
“We all pray right? Let’s go ever so often together”
“We should be more obsessed with our faith let’s go more often”
“How about we set up a prayer group for when we aren’t going to church”
And just like that your group is taking time outside of church to pray, just that one thing will create a moral precedent for other church related things outside of the church’s jurisdiction
Mentally in 2024 this is where people often can’t continue because they’re selling need mental stimuli, try to find something fun they can’t find elsewhere like a bonding time/hugging time since most likely if they fall For it they’re on tough times
3. Isolation (important)
Isolation is the most important step in creating a cult, luckily it’s 2024 and socially most people are isolated besides the occasional family members/neighbors, this’ll be hard still since finding a way to make people cut off their loved ones is uneasy, but just play it off at first by saying ‘you should focus on scripture don’t let them interrupt you’ and then once they’re mentally isolated completely it’ll be very easy to physically isolate them and start your cult/commune
“We have no one else but each other why don’t we start a farm away from the big city” or “let’s get away from all the craziness in this world”
4. Rewarding them
You can’t ask everything of someone and give nothing, you have to give a reward for their service. This is the catch with cults in 2024 the mental reward centers for social media are too high to throw away for nothing, you have to provide them with the same mental stimulation elsewhere. Jonestown went about this wrong and provided stimulation through pain/yelling at the members while they were tired so they couldn’t think about anything let alone leaving. 2024 you’ll have to provide love, you’ll have to provide fun and you’ll have to play the role of social media eg matchmaking, laughter and more
If you can start it out with people who are already religious it’ll be easier since they’ll understand praying for long hours. Also use the members friendship/love for each other as a weapon Every religion does this, once your members have kids and those kids have cousins your cult is set. Now if one leaves they’ll never be able to see the other. But you have to provide a reward so their brain can’t justify leaving
5.conditions
Most cults don’t have good conditions but have wishful thinking. This is for a good reason, when you’re sweating towing away at a field you can’t think of anything but finishing your work and you pray it’ll be over. Two birds with one stone now you have someone praying and not being able to even think about leaving if it isn’t for a millisecond, but this backfires because you can’t do this for multiple years. Earlier cults got away with this by offering drugs to keep people docile, alcohol and religious offerings like hookah
But now that’s not acceptable, the best case scenario 2024 is having good conditions and a way to get drugs/ something to impair thinking. People would drop like flies if you put them in bad conditions today
5. Make them happy
Jokes and games will make people more receptive, any cope will be something that will make people stay.
“where else would I do things with my friends”
“Why would I leave when these are all I have”
Music is a core element of every church because it was one of the first original copes and also food too
6. Enjoy your life with happiness and bliss
Good times with people you know and trust woohoo
Average lookslevel to scout for: ltn/ltb mtn/mtb
These are the people most susceptible to wanting to get away from their life and wanting to find any way to cope
Groups that are susceptible: lots of online groups are susceptible, I’ve even heard of cults forming from self help courses. I personally advise to look people that are down on their luck, people who are obsessed with consuming media/entertainment/games since they’re people who are basically obsessed with coping from something
Also: you don’t have to form cults from religion it can be from all sorts of things that people wish for, money, love, admiration
There has literally been a cult of TikTok dancers jfl use this information interchangeably
Reminder: don’t do anything illegal with this and don’t try to pin anything on me cults are technically legal here in the United States.
