Look at hair loss like a bathtub. You have to close the drain and add water. No point of adding water to the tub if the drain is open. You have to take fin to prevent/slow hair loss, than take castor oil, minox, shampoos, hair transplant etc for volume and growth.

and nah, i've been applying minox to my stubble and temples and no side effects for me expect for dry ish skin but even then thats mild

If that was true then why do teenagers in puberty experience hair thickening and faster growth, whereas old men who have lower testosterone and dht experience hair loss?

Castration does not regrow hair but can prevent further hair loss due to less free testosterone converting to dht - therefore less dht is able to bind to hair follicles. Hair loss is not simple as excess androgens.
